No Bucks Business Start ups

There are literally hundreds of free home based business opportunity listings on the Internet – some legitimate, some not. While it’s not necessarily the case that there is no cost involved, they are offered as a free home based business opportunity because there is no upfront fee to be paid to the firm offering the opportunity.

This doesn’t necessarily make them legitimate home based business opportunities just because they’re free, nor does not being free indicate that a home based business opportunity is not legitimate. In fact, if someone wishes to start his or her own home business and build their own creative idea into a successful venture it will cost money to start.

One of the best ways to get started for free in a home based business opportunity is to start small as an online merchant at one of the major auction sites. The first step in this venture is for the budding entrepreneur to simply take a look around the house, the office and the garage to see what is not in use and what might bring in some cash if put up for sale. The trick to making this start up venture free at the outset is to find what is already available, use it as the basis of the home based business opportunity and then take the sale proceeds to start buying up other items to sell. Of course, the trick is buying cheap and selling higher.

The skills needed to start this home based business opportunity for free are not extensive at all. In fact, most online merchant and auction sites will walk the entrepreneur right through the process. The general step by step is to first supply the site administrator with banking and credit or debit account information and then sign up for online payment resources such as PayPal. There is generally an online form to fill out about the item or items to be sold, and then the choice of setting fixed prices for the item, using an online store dedicated to this seller, allowing the auction format or any combination of these options.

The merchant site has categories from which to choose. The seller writes the title for the listing, the description of the products being sold, and can add photos. Pricing must be chosen as well as the duration of each listing. Another thing that’s important with this free home business opportunity is to reveal to consumers the city and state in which the items are houses.

Starting out for free on an online merchant site with items already available is a great option for a budding entrepreneur who doesn’t have a ton of upfront financial resources.

Disabled Abled with Work at Home

Working at home is not an unusual situation. Right now there are 30 million or more employees or entrepreneurs working at home in the United States. The International Telework Association and Council (ITAC) confirmed that nearly 24 million 23.5 million U.S. employees worked from home at least part time in 2003, and that number has been rising 20 percent a year for more than a decade. The forecast is for that number to exceed 40 million by 2010.

Truly, if someone has had a dream of working at home, this may be the time that dream can come true – for the employer as well as the employee.

In the United States the federal government regulates and carefully oversees the hiring practices of employers, especially when it comes to minorities and the handicapped. Telework can help resolve the issue of an employer’s non-compliance with the issue of reasonable accommodation by allowing temporarily or permanently disabled employees or job candidates to work at home. It also makes the firm the employer of choice for these persons who seek work, which is especially helpful to employers in competitive industries, and places where unemployment is low and turnover high.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission published a revised edition of its guidance on complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act and its undue hardship and reasonable accommodation clauses. The act itself states that employers who have 15 or more employers must provide reasonable accommodation for employees and job candidates who otherwise qualify for the open position but who are disabled. What the legislature means by reasonable accommodation is any work environment change or procedural change that makes it possible for a disabled individual to apply for the job, perform the tasks of the job and have equal access to the privileges and benefits of employment. The employer is not required to undergo undue hardship such as great expense or difficulty to fulfill this requirement. This would not be considered reasonable accommodation.

Not everyone who has a disability wants to be working at home, of course, and telework should not be compelled or suggested as the first alternative to reasonable work site accommodation. However, a person whose disability prevents her or him from performing the job at the work site may benefit greatly, as can the employer, from working at home.

Handy Home Base Habits

Setting up a home base business office may seem like the perfect answer to spending time with family as well as earning a living.

It’s not that easy, however. It takes a lot of planning to find just the right balance between home base business and family life – but it can happen. Here are some ideas.

A primary caregiver needs child care for young children during the hours she or he will be running her home base business. It doesn’t necessarily have to mean taking the kids to the sitter. It may be that a sitter can be found to come to the business owner’s home just as long as the geographical distance is great enough between the office of the home base business and the play area of the home to allow for undistracted work.

If the home base business has fluctuating hours, then perhaps a child care coop might work, where the small business owner would take his or her part in watching all the children. This would reduce child care expenses while assuring that someone known and trusted is watching the children.

If the children are going to be home, plan conference calls and business meetings during the hours they are in school or away elsewhere.

A home base business needs its own closed-door space if children are in the home. Not only does this help soundproof the work area and help get the message across to the kids and others that the home business owner is working and the area off limits but it also gives the business owner a break. Closing the door at the end of the day gives the owner a break and makes her or him less likely to work constantly and get burned out.

Other handy options for a home base business are a second phone line dedicated to the business – one the children would never answer. This line should have voice mail as well, which would keep the phone answerable even when the owner is on the line. It would also allow for remote voice mail greeting changes and remote message check.

Another handy service for a home base business is an office away from the office, such as UPS store or others that offer faxing, copying and mailing. There are some that answer the phone for the business as well, passing the messages on regularly.

The most important client-related issue with a home base business is that the customer not be aware that they are talking to you anywhere but in your professional office. Screaming children or barking dogs in the background of your home base do not make for a professional business environment.

A Glimpse at How to Make Money on the Net

The old door-to-door salesman normally sold just one or maybe two products. Even the Fuller brush man had a limited product line with all items related to cleaning or grooming. Such salesmen would be amazed at the many ways that one can now make money on the net today. All types of sales offer an opportunity to make money. The Internet stands apart, however, because it offers so many different opportunities for making money. No other form of selling--not radio ads, not TV ads, not movie ads, not print ads-- offers as many opportunities to the man or woman who wants to make money on sales. There is an almost limitless number of ways to make money on the net. If you want to sell something on the Internet, what sort of product or service can you sell? The fact is that you can sell any product or service for which you can write a good ad. Write something that catches the interest of the Internet user. Keep in mind that most such users are searching for information. Let your ad offer some sort of information. Get the Internet user to click on your ad.

Take advantage of the fact that many websites cater to the special interests of the Internet users. Think about offering a product or service that would appeal to a group with a special interest. For example, you might have a website for those interested in alternative medicine. Here you could sell all sorts of herbs. Here you could even offer an e-book about alternative medical procedures. This would be one way to make money on the net.

Once you have chosen a product or service, then study how best to market that product or service. Visit other Internet sites and see how the site owner has tried to market his product or service. Find out what others are doing in order to make money on the net. Think about ways that you can encourage the Internet user to return to your website and to buy more of a product or service. Think about selling an item that needs to be replaced. Or think about selling an item that needs to have one of its parts replaced (such as a battery). Those are the sort of products that really help a website owner to make money on the net.

Become familiar with “growth products.” These are products that are similar to your product. For example, if you sell herbs on your website, then think about also offering a health drink. If you offer such “growth products” you stand a better chance of getting people to return to your website. You stand a better chance of making money on the net.
